Augusta Street Pizza

Augusta Street Pizza, a Roman-style pizza restaurant, partnered with Tinge Creative to build a bold, welcoming, and cohesive brand experience from the ground up. While the concept and food were strong, the business needed a visual identity, marketing materials, and website that matched the owners’ energy and concept. Tinge Creative led the branding, marketing design, and website design, creating a system that honors their Italian roots while feeling lighthearted, approachable, and modern across every touchpoint, from menus and murals to social media and their online presence.

Branding & Logo Highlights:

  • Designed a new primary logo system that balances Italian heritage with a bold, modern personality, giving the brand a distinctive and recognizable presence.
  • The Colosseum icon in the primary logo serves a dual purpose: a nod to Rome, the origin of Roman-style pizza, and a subtle visual reference to the pizza itself. The repeating arches mirror the airy structure and crisp edges of Roman-style crust, reinforcing the brand story through form, not just symbolism.
  • Created a custom mascot logo from one of the original concepts — Augustus, a stoic Roman statue eating a square slice of pizza, a nod to Roman-style pizza — to reflect the founders’ humor, warmth, and hands-on energy while giving the brand a flexible, memorable character.
  • Built a cohesive logo suite with variations for different use cases, ensuring consistency across print, digital, merchandise, packaging, and signage.
  • Developed the branding to be highly adaptable, allowing it to live comfortably in the restaurant space, on menus and merchandise, and across digital platforms without losing impact.

Website Goals & Highlights:

  • Mobile-first WordPress website linked with the restaurant’s online ordering platform, designed for the way most users access restaurant websites — on their phones, often while deciding where to eat.
  • Fast, intuitive access to key information (menu, ordering, hours, and location), prioritized based on common user intent. Strategically placed buttons and persistent visibility of hours and location reduce friction and decision time.
  • Brand story and differentiators highlighted throughout the site, supporting users who want to understand what makes the restaurant unique before ordering or visiting.
  • Clean site structure and intuitive navigation, making it easy for first-time visitors to find what they need in seconds.
  • Design aligned with the new branding and in-store experience, creating consistency between the physical and digital brand touchpoints.
  • Built for scalability and ease of updates, allowing the team to manage content, menu changes, and updates without developer support.

Marketing Materials & Graphic Design:

  • Printed trifold menu
  • Stickers and branded merchandise graphics
  • Business cards
  • Social media menu posts and reusable templates
  • Digital menu board designs

Creative Direction:

  • Led creative direction for the hand-painted interior mural, ensuring the artwork aligned with the brand’s tone and in-store experience (Ryan Finley, rcfinleyart.com)
  • Directed website photography to create a cohesive visual system across digital and physical touchpoints (Marie-Catherine Dubé, maisondube.com)

The Result:
A brand that doesn’t take itself too seriously, but takes the pizza very seriously — full of personality, warmth, and just the right tinge of unexpected charm.

Special Shout Out:
